Hyacinths

"If, of thy mortal goods, thou art bereft, And from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left, Sell one & from the dole, Buy Hyacinths to feed the soul." - Muslihuddin Sadi, 13th Century Persian Poet This poem has always been a favorite of mine and has been quoted by writers and scholars in a variety of ways. I was fortunate to have wonderful high school English teachers, and two of them, Corrine Humphries and Flora Lowery, had students memorize and recite a poem every week. While I cannot always remember what I had for lunch on a given day, I can remember much of that poetry that remains in my heart and in my head. So, I recall the poem above. Words of this poem serve as an appropriate metaphor for an innovative facilities project.
